Do you use some type of Art Class Restroom Pass?
I have used them for many years now and I find them to be really helpful for my classroom. I give them a sheet of 10 passes at the beginning of the semester. When they leave the classroom they must give me one and sign out. If they can keep them until the end of the semester, each pass they have is worth 5 points. They have the ability to get 50 extra credit points added to their grade. You can choose to make them worth more or less points if you want, but they do say “FIVE POINTS” at the bottom of the dollar.
Of course, some students burn through them lightning fast! (By the way, I still let these students go to the restroom even when they have exhausted their passes.) Some students use them thoughtfully but on occasion. Many other students will try to use the restroom before class begins so they do not use a restroom pass unless it’s an emergency!
I’ve found these art class restroom pass sheets to be helpful at keeping some students from leaving the room unnecessarily. If this sounds like something your classroom needs, please click the button below and you’ll get to download the file!
This file comes with a color version and a black and white version. It also comes with a back side for students to write their names on. Choose your option (color or black/white) and then be sure and print with the Name side on the back. I also always make students write their names on each one right away!
